The 50 Best Movies of 2009: Adventureland & Up in the Air on the list

Moviefones' 50 Best Movies of 2009 , Adevntureland and Up in the Air is on the list.

31. 'Adventureland'

Coming of age dramedies are a dime a dozen these days, so it's always a treat to find one that manages to be fresh, funny -- and not entirely clichéd. 'Superbad' director Greg Mottola scores again with this nostalgic trip to the titular park in the summer of '87 starring a lovable Jesse Eisenberg and an uncharacteristically charismatic Kristen Stewart. Plus, the film confirms what most of us have long suspected: Amusement park games are all rigged!

1. 'Up in the Air'

With three feature films now under his belt – 'Thank You for Smoking,' 'Juno' and now this instant classic -- is there any doubt that 32-year-old Jason Reitman is one of Hollywood's best directors? George Clooney somehow makes a corporate downsizer (topical!) lovable and magnetic in a superb lead turn (his best yet), while Anna Kendrick and Vera Farmiga kill as the distinctly powerful women who change his life. 'Air' is a near-perfect film that is at times bitingly funny, at other times heartrendingly sad -- sort of like life, come to think of it. -- KP

Anna Kendrick Stays Up For The Late Show+ video

Anna Kendrick went curly last night to make an appearance on The Late Show in NYC. She's switching gears after New Moon, instead joining Dave to chat about her new film with George Clooney, Up in the Air. Dave himself managed to steal headlines by making slightly inappropriate jokes about all the Tiger Woods drama, but Anna managed to stay on task despite her nerves to talk about her project with George. She shared a few anecdotes about the joys and perks of flying with George Clooney.

Anna Kendrick Fueled Fire Between Clooney & Robert Pattinson

What a tough life for Up in the Air Golden-Globe nominee Anna Kendrick – jetting between film sets with a two-time PEOPLE Sexiest Man Alive winner and with one of the world's favorite vampires.
Shedding light on shooting Up in the Air with George Clooney and Twilight with Robert Pattinson, Kendrick, 24, tells Ellen DeGeneres on the TV's host's Jan. 8 show, "George gave me such a hard time about shooting Twilight. Whenever I came back, it was like, 'Oh sorry, this isn't the Twilight set. You're not working with Mr. Handsome.' He called Rob 'Mr. Handsome.' "

But Kendrick admits she helped egg on the pseudo-competition, bringing back a GQ magazine that she had Pattinson sign, "To George, Best of Luck. Hang in there. Love Rob."
Clooney's response? He signed his Esquire magazine, "Dear Rob, Thanks for all the inspiration. I'm a huge fan. Love, George, two-time 'Sexiest Man Alive.' "

Sweden take it's bite in: "Twilight star as Lisbeth Salander?"

It is the hottest rumor about the 'Millennium' trilogy in film world.
She has been seen by millions of moviegoers in the worldwide box office vampire successes "Twilight" and "New Moon".

Now it's time for Kristen Stewart, 19, to assume the mantle as Naomi Rapace hacker Lisbeth Salander when Stieg Larsson's 'Millennium' trilogy are put in to movies in Hollywood.
At least if we are to believe rumors on the lively "Twilight" fan sites and entertainment site celebuzz.com.

Previously, it has been rumored that Hollywood stars as George Clooney and Brad Pitt are present to play Mikael Blomkvist.

Yellow Bird, who produced the Swedish Millennium films, is in advanced stage negotiations with Sony Pictures and producer Scott Rudin ( "No Country for Old Men," "Revolutionary Road").
