To all the wonderful, incredibly loyal fans:
For those of you that read that I was in rehab, I wanted to make sure you heard the truth from me directly. Yes it is true, that I was in rehab, however it was over 19 months ago, long before NEW MOON was even on my radar. It was a pivotal time in my life where I was lucky enough to have supportive friends and family to help me get healthy. I am grateful that I have been clean and sober now for 19 months and cannot imagine my life if I had continued using drugs and alcohol. Almost everything else that was written about this is blatantly false and we are exploring our legal options. That was my past, and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to create a new future for myself. I encourage anyone who is in a similar place to seek support from their friends and family and know that without them, I would not have had the chance to be where I am now.
I want to thank all of you for the support you have shown, and continue to show. I appreciate each and every one of you.

Chaske Spencer has landed a gig with MTV’s UK division. According to the MTV UK site:
“Twilight’s werewolf turned heartthrob, Chaske Spencer, will be MTV International’s red carpet correspondent at the upcoming 2010 MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles on 6 June, 2010 for a special edition of MTV At The Movies.
Spencer, known to Twi-hards as alpha wolf Sam Uley from the global smash hit film series Twilight, will man/wolf the mike on one of the world’s most famous red carpets, bringing fans around the world a bit closer to the biggest names in the industry and most talked about moments.”

Nikki Reed ("Rosalie Hale" in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) is working with Staples and DoSomething.org, according to a new press release, to help put school supplies in the hands of children in need.
Nikki, star of this summer’s upcoming blockbuster film Twilight: Eclipse, is encouraging teens to make a difference this summer by collecting school supplies and dropping them off at their local Staples store from July 4 through September 18. In addition, Staples customers will be able to get involved by donating $1 at any Staples store, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting local students in need. Each Staples store will be matched to a local educational not-for-profit organization serving local youth, and DoSomething.org and Staples will ensure that all the donations get to these partners just in time for the new school year.
“Do Something 101 has done an amazing job in its first two years, and I’m dedicated to making the 2010 campaign the best yet,” said Nikki Reed. “Every donated pencil, notebook and other supplies add up to make a big difference in improving education.”
Last year, Reed's Twilight series co-star Chaske Spencer participated in this event with Ciara, and Ashley Greene has also worked with DoSomething.org, so it's great to see another Twilight castmate use her influence for the greater good.

The actors who play Taylor Lautner's fellow furry shapeshifters definitely feel that Bella (Kristen Stewart) should lose a zero like Edward (Robert Pattinson) and get with the hero Jacob (Lautner), reports the Los Angels Times.
A couple of them weigh in:
Chaske Spencer (who plays Sam Uley): "Have you seen him? He's got that sex appeal going. He's got the body. He's the boy next door. But he can also rip your head off."
Uh, okay. Sure.
Alex Meraz (who plays Paul): "He's cuddly when he turns into a wolf ... unless he's mad ... It's like, 'Momma would be happy.' Jacob is someone you can take home to Mom."
That cuddly Jacob comes back for "Twilight: Eclipse" on June 30. It's up to you if you want to bring Mom.

Talking with the L.A. Times, the two explain their reasons why they think "Bella" should choose "Jacob."
Says Spencer, "He’s the boy next door. But he can also rip your head off . . . He’s a protector. What more could a girl ask for?"
Says Meraz, "He’ll treat her good, he’ll take care of her . . . He's a good friend. Why would you want someone who is conflicted and doesn’t know if they love you or not? It’s like a love-hate relationship — ‘I love you, but I don’t want to hurt you.’ Instead you can have someone who is legit and is down to do anything for you. It’s like, 'Momma would be happy.' Jacob is someone you can take home to Mom."
