A pregnant Nicole Richie sat down with OK! the day after her sentencing to discuss her feelings about jail, marriage and motherhood. “It’s time to take responsibility and not take the easy way out,” Nicole tells OK! in response to the series of events that have taken place in her life this year. Nicole talks about her sentence — “It was fair,” she says — and reveals where she’s set to serve her time. She also touches on much happier issues: her dream wedding plans and how many children she’d like to have.

The troubled actress crumbles under mounting stress
Lindsay Lohan is reeling from her July 23 arrest for her second DUI and possession of cocaine. “She’s having a mental and physical collapse,” a close friend of the actress tells OK!. “There’s no telling what Lindsay might do. She’s alone and scared with no one to turn to.” Lindsay’s latest illegal actions, coupled with her former charges, might land the 21-year-old star a 180-day stint in jail. While she clearly shows signs of addiction, she also seems to be in denial. Says another friend of Lindsay: “Maybe this is the best thing that could happen to her. She needed to hit rock bottom before she was ever going to admit she’s a mess.” OK! also spoke with Lindsay’s father, Michael, who had some heartbreaking words about his daughter.

Her marriage to K-Fed is officially over
On July 30, Britney Spears’ divorce from Kevin Federline, to whom she was married for two years, became final — but the battle has just begun. While Brit’s attorney states that Kevin and Britney will continue to split custody 50-50 of Sean Preston, 1, and Jayden James, 10 months, insiders say that Kevin is unhappy with the arrangement and intends to seek full custody of his kids. Kevin is enraged that Britney brought their children to Las Vegas without his written permission to take them out of state, which is required by California law during custody battles. And Britney’s cousin Alli Sims has joined forces with Kevin and is providing key information and personal accounts he can use against his ex-wife. A source close to Kevin tells OK!, “He’s prepared to fight this bitch for the next 18 years.”
