Paris Hilton: Jail Time?

We should be so lucky. Yesterday, in filed court documents, prosecutors recommended that heiress and reality TV star Paris Hilton serve 45 days in a county jail for recent probation violation on her drunken driving misdemeanor. Although I doubt it will actually happen, good for them for at least trying.

Hilton failed to enroll in an alcohol education program by the court-ordered deadline and of driving on a suspended license, prosecutors said.

She is supposed to appear in an LA court today where a judge can decide on the jail time. This is all stemming from her September arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. She pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor charge in January and was placed on probation for three years and was ordered not to drive and to enroll in alcohol education classes within 21 days.

Prosecutors are also requesting that the judge to impound the car she was driving, a Bentley, extend her driver's license suspension and ban her from drinking alcohol for 90 days. The impounding is a little silly, since she probably has enough spare change at the bottom of her purse to buy a new one, but maybe they'll get lucky on the jail and license suspension requests.
